Our Story
High Gate Press is a business called to minister to God’s children. The journey began when the founder was taking a walk and enjoying a lovely bluebird she had spotted. God suddenly spoke very clearly: “You and your husband need a publishing company.” That was exciting, but where to begin? Sometime after that, in the midst of a prayer meeting, a woman looked at her and said, “God just said you and your husband need a publishing company.” It was obviously time to get started!
She spent about a year researching what is involved in publishing books. Then one day she was sharing with her father-in-law what she had been up to. He seemed startled and said, “Let me show you what I’ve been working on.” He was a retired minister and had been compiling stories about finding Jesus in the midst of his life experiences. He promptly volunteered to be her first customer. You can find the result of their collaboration in the bookstore: Secret Seeds by Bobby Hiatt.
As God continued to bring authors to her door, He clarified the mission. High Gate Press was to provide resources and training materials for the growth and advancement of God’s children. It was also to undergird each author, helping them to create a book with high quality writing while maintaining their unique voice. God has directed that the bluebird be included on everything that High Gate Press creates. He said: “I have placed in your hands the keys to unlock the captured voices of My children and give them wings and a song.”
